Float Switch

A float switch is a device used to detect the level of liquid within a tank. It operates as a sensor to control a pump, indicator, or other devices by either opening or closing a circuit as the liquid level rises or falls.

Working:
A float switch consists of a hollow, buoyant float containing a magnet or mechanical switch.

1. As the liquid level rises or falls, the float moves accordingly.
2. The movement either completes or breaks the circuit within the switch, triggering an action such as turning a pump on/off or activating an alarm.
3. It can be used in normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) configurations, depending on the application requirements.
